A new date, Friday, June 18 at 10 a.m. has been set by the Rappahannock County Board of Zoning Appeals to hear the application of the Potomac Edison Company of Virginia to construct a 138 KV transmission line from Riverton in Warren County to Boston in Culpeper County extending through Rappahannock County.
The hearing was postponed December 30 of last year when a group of citizens banded together as the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection and asked for further time and more information to prepare their case against the power line.
Meanwhile Philip R. Irwin, president of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection urged all concerned citizens and landowners in the county to show up at the hearing to express their feelings and suggested that those who are unable to attend write letters to their representative on the Board of Supervisors.
