They took holiday and were entertained foi dinner Monday evening at Graves Mountain Lodge, Syria, Va. Since 1946 Gibson Wharton has owned and operated Hampton Inn and Service Station on Route 21] west of the Town of Washington. Says Mr. Wharton, “It has been a “growing business” for I have added on to every side of the original building to bring the capacity to its present level. In the beginning I was in partnership with Dan Price, now deceased, and we opened Hampton Service Station in September of 46.” Over the years, the business grew and the building was enlarged to accommodate the growth spurred by the faithful local citizens and the ever increasing tourist trade.
