Taylor of SperryviUe in a 60 Chevrolet station wagon started to pass The Taylor vehicle struck the front of the tractor. Damage to the car was set at $300 and no damage to the tractor was noted. Roy B. Reeve of McSherrystown, Pa. ran off the road and overturned on Route 211 two miles east of Sperryville at 11:45 p.m. Saturday night. Reeve was not injured. He was charged with reckless driving. Damage to his car, a 1971 Chevrolet Vaga, was estimated at a thousand dollars. Trooper Buntin also investigated the above accidents.
A single-vehicle crash occurred Monday evening on Route 211 a mile east of Washington after midnight. John Wayne Sims of Landover, Md., operating a ’67 Rambler owned by John and Carol Towns of Landover, ran off the left of the highway, careened back across it and plowed through the parking area of Payne’s Garage. The Rambler crashed into a trash dumpster unit and struck another car parked there. During the wild trip, a rock was hurled through the window of a school bus which was parked at the garage, according to Trooper W. A. Buntin who investigated.
Sims was charged with reckless driving and no operator’s license, and damage to the car was estimated at near $2,000. Mary Myers of Landover, a passenger, sustained lacerations of the head and knee and Mike Healy of Bladensburg received abrasions of the elbow and knee. Sims had an abrasion of the arm. All were taken to Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal by Rappahannock Rescue Squad where they were treated and released.
