Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cameron oi Alexandria were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Gilkey Jr.
The following children from Chester Gap were guests at a birthday party Saturday for Danny, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Williams in Front Royal: Tim, Jeffrey Todd and Craig, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Timmy WillingNorma Jean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. “Jabo” Williams and Tammie and Robin, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson North. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Dulin had as guests over the weekend, Mr. and Mrs. John Dulin of Vermont, W.Va. Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Goranson were callers in the Dulin home Saturday evening. Keljey Gilkey came home from the hospital Wednesday and was able to return to school Monday of this week. Mrs. Marie Williams spent Monday with her sister Mrs. Lewis Butler in Front Royal. The Junior Choir and members of the Womens Missionary Society of the Baptist Church gathered at the home of Mrs. Pet Smith Monday evening, honoring her with a song and prayer service. Weekenders in the Blue Ridge Mountain Estates included Mrs. Flora Rhudy from Washington, D.C., Mrs. Shirley Shelton, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schilz and Franklin Cain all of Alexandria, and Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Stewart of Silver Spring, Md. Mr. and Mrs. Timmy Williams had as guests Saturday night and Sunday, Rodney Dean and Tammie Louise, children of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Williams of Front Royal. Despite continued rain and fog, much interest was evidenced in the week’s revival at the Baptist Church which closed Sunday night. Rev. William Davis was the evangelist. Mrs. Jimmy Williams was an outpatient at Warren Memorial Hospital Monday where she underwent minor foot surgery. The fall meeting of the Blue Ridge Mountain Estates Association will be held at the Chester Gap Fire Hall on Saturday afternoon, October 9, followed by a dinner served by the ladies of the community. Watch for a more specific announcement next week. Howard Cheney has returned from Lawrence, Kan. where he was called four weeks ago by the serious illness of his daughter Mrs. Ronald Perdue. Mrs. Perdue is now recovering satisfactorily from major surgery.
Mrs. Lea Hostess For Bridge Party
Mrs. T. C. Lea entertained the Washington Bridge Club Thursday evening at her home. Prize winners were Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. R. V. Snead, Mrs. L. J. Turner and Mrs. Harry Lee Smith. Others playing were Mrs. G. H. Davis, Jr., Mrs. Elmo D. Flynt, Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr. and Mrs. B. M. Miller.
