RLEP Questionnaire
Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (RLEP) has prepared and mailed a questionnaire to each of the candidates seeking a seat on the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors subject to the general election in November. The twenty yes or no questions are designed to secure opinions of the candidates on the various ecological problems which do or could face the county. The questions range from general, such as, “do you feel there is a need for a comprehensive county-wide ecological and development plan?,” to more specific, like, “do you support the effort to create a permanent wilderness area in the Shenandoah National Park?” The questionnaire is not intended to be political, nor will R.L.E.P. make any comment or judgement on the answers, said a league spokesman, who added that he felt too few voters knew where the candidates stood as to the environmental issues. He said that this is a part of the League’s educational function and he hoped that candidates would not object to publication of the results, but would welcome the opportunity to
