Youth Rally Held
A group of members of Amissville Baptist Church Sunday School attended the Youth Rally held Saturday at New Salem Baptist Church, joining over a hundred other young people from Shiloh Baptist Association. The program which began at 3 p.m. included songs, worship and a message by a number of college students. A cook-out was also held and the program closed about 8:30 p.m. Those from Amissville: attending were Kay Lawrence, C. G. Lawrence, Roberta Harrison, Judy Woodward, Rose Walker, Martha Settle, Debbie Jeffries and David Melborae. They were ac:ompanied by the Rev. Joseph Stirman and by H. R. Terhune who was accompanied by his grand:hildren, Terry Terhune and rammy Hanson of Bowie, Md. fCay Lawrence was pianist for the •ally.
Music Festival
Among the Woodnymphs and :he Merckles a music festival is being held: October third from 10 a.m. until dusk at the Nethers Community School in Woodville. It is a time to see old friends, make new friends, and most of all to make music. Songs will include folk, gospel, and maybe some jazz. If you play a musical instrument, please bring them and participate. Festival rules are: bring all your own food; no open fires; no drugs; and no alcohol.
Nethers Community School is an innovative school now in its Second year, where education means the total life of the community on its 27 acre farm. It is located on Rt. 621 one mile north of iVoodville, so follow the signs. Public is cordially invited.
