Paid Political Advertisement I BELIEVE: 1. A candidate for nupervisor should present a basic platform to the people explainingr his positions on the known issues of the office and how he expec ts to carry out his programs. 2. For a candidate t o say he will do "what the people want" is vague and meaningless. I n most cases this means for one reason or another the candidate is mot willing to tell the voters in advance his intended courses of action and will generally follow the dictates of a few people. It is imptossible to check with all 500 voters (in Hampton District) on each issue. 3. This platform sh ould be presented at an early date so that the issues may be di scussed by the people and candidates to see if the platform has me rit. 4. A candidate should basically understand the duties of the office before seeking this office so that he will not have to learn at the taxpayers' expanse. 5. A candidate should be capable of providing leadership, as the office of super visor becomes more complex each year. If asked, I wiill nppear before any organization or group of people to discuss or deb ate the known issues of the office of supervisor with my opponent.
