The new bridge over the Rappahannock River at the Rappahannock-Fauquier County line on Route 647 was opened to the public for travel last Wednesday afternoon. The final asphalt surface was applied to the bridge and to the approaches on each end where the road was widened and straightened during Highway Week in Virginia.
