Mishaps Reported
Traffic mishaps were reportec by two separate motorists during the weekend When Roberl Thomas Birkhimer of Leesburg attempted to avoid striking a deer he ran off the left of the road anc struck a guard rail. According tc investigating officer Trooper W A. Bun tin, the crash occurred or Route 211 five miles west ol Sperryville at 4 am. Fridaj morning. Damage to the 6t Plymouth was estimated at $400 No injury was sustained. Sunday afternoon five miles west of Sperry ville on Route 211 a 63 Buick operated by Virdel Fisher of Washington, D. C. rar down an embankment when the brakes failed to function properl} and struck a tree. No injur> resulted and damage was set al $350.

Of Farm Bureau
The Rappahannock Countj Farm Bureau will hold its annua membership meeting on Monday October 11, 1971 at 7:30 p.m. in th< courthouse at Washington. The purpose of the annual meeting this year will be to elect officers anc directors, adopt resolutions anc hear a progress report on 197: activities.
President Gordon Thornhill wil present his annual progress repor to the group and membership gait will be discussed. The loca organization has a total of 111 member families. This is a gain o I nine over the previous year.
