Va. Foxhunters

The Virginia Foxhunters Association will hold its 49th annual field trial and bench show October 13 through 16. Headquarters will be at Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises, and hounds will be transported out U.S. Route 522 from Culpeper to State Route 646 near Griffinsburg and Boston for casting.
Registration for the 3-day foxhound trial will take place at the Enterprises beginning at 9 a.m., Wednesday the 13th. The bench show will be held that evening starting at 8 p.m. There is no admission for spectators.
Thursday through Saturday the hounds will be cast at 7 a.m. near R>ute 646 on the Yates and Ireland farms, with each day’s hunt scheduled for five hours. The numbered hounds will be scored for hunting and trailing ability, speed and drive and endurance. Winners in both the all-age and derby categories will be announced at the Enterprises at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Spectators are welcome at .casting grounds or wherever the Ihounds are running but are requested not to block roads with vehicles or horses and not to litter.
