Panthers win again

THE RAPPAHANNOCK PANTHERS won their second game of the season Tuesday night by out* scoring the Central High School Falcons 44-41. The game was close all the way, with neither team acquiring more than a five-point lead.
Central led most of the first half with their fine guard Sonny Jackson. However, center Harry Jordan of Rappahannock tipped the second half opening tipoff to Ronnie Myers who laid it up to put the Panthers ahead 22-21. Central later rallied but could never overcome the tough defense.
The Panthers played a controlled game on offense to match their defense. Neither team shot well, but the Panthers finished with a 32% field goal average , and the Falcons only 24%. At the foul line the Falcons had 59% and Rappahannock 47%.
Clifford Frye was high scorer for the Panthers with 13 points and Harry Jordan followed with 10. Bobby Smoot chalked up 8 points and Ronnie Myers came on with 7. □
