0 SUPERINTENDENT R. Taylor Hoskins has announced that plans are well under way for Shenandoah National Park to take part in the 1972 Centennial of National Parks. The Centennial of National Parks. The Centennial commemorates the creation of the first national park, Yellowstone, in 1872.
A special committee, with E. Ray Schaffner as Centennial Coordinator, has planned programs and activities around the Centennial theme — “Parks, Man, and His Environment.”
All main entrance signs to the Park will note the Centennial observance. All Park bulletin boards will have special centennial messages. Also tentatively scheduled are art shows, photographic contest, the publishing of a new book
