The new publishers of the Rappahannock News want all of the paper’s old friends to rest assured that any" changes that might be made are not going to be drastic ones. In fact, there probably won’t be a lot of changes at all, not where basic considerations are concerned.
The change in the size of the newspaper which confronted News readers this week might seem to belie the statements in the preceding paragraphs, but older readers remember that the News was once this same size, anyway.
A most important point that the new publishers want to convey is that the Rappahannock News will, continue to be a weekly for Rappahannock county. We’re proud of the New’s status a^ THE paper in Rappahannock, and certainly nothing will be done to diminish in any way that role of the paper.
THE NEW’S “SISTER PUBLICATION,” the Piedmont Virginian, was founded last spring on the premise that the beautiful northern Piedmont area is a place which deserves a staunch friend and champion.
The Virginian has been interested in all activities related to enhancing the good life in this part of the country as it embraces a broad “community of interest” transcending several counties — Fauquier, Loudoun, Western Prince William, and certainly Rappahannock.
What better companion for the Virginian to have in this endeavor than the Rappahannock News!
