Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors convened Thursday for the initial meeting of the new year. This was an organizational meeting following the fall election and Newbill Miller was elected as chairman of the Board by his colleagues for a four-year term. Placed in the vice chairman’s seat was J. Richard Latham of Amissville. From left to right in the above photo are Herbert Foster, Flint Hill, Wakefield District; Mr. Latham, Jackson District; E.M. Jones, Clerk, duly eleeted at that meeting; Mr. Miller, Hampton District; H.B. Wood Jr., Woodville, Stonewall-Hawthorne District; and Commonwealth’s Attorney George H. Davis Jr., Washington. Absent from the meeting was Mrs. Betty Coates of Sperryville, representative of Piedmont District.
