other six, all checked at Flint Hill, were two killed by John Alexander.

A total of five bears were killed in Rappahannock this past season. This is about average for the county after an all time high of nine last year.

Two were checked at Chester Gap and one each ■ at Flint Hill and Washington. The other one was checked in Madison County at Etlan by Roger Jones, who also took a four point Rappahannock buck. Also checked at Etlan was a buck by Jim Fincham and a 14 pt. by Randall Lillard.

All big game hunting is now behind us for this season. Still with us is squirrel, rabbit and grouse until January 31, and quail through February 15, 1972.

For those who occasionally kick up a woodcock, he’s legal through January 18, as are ducks.

If anyone is wondering about the late part of dove season, it’s all past now. Thd last day was January 3.

Coon hunters (in case you’ve forgotten) have a new season in Rappahannock and may hunt up through March 10. □
