The Rappahannock Panthers lost a pair of heart-breaking games in the past week, both by four points. The Elkton Elks hosted the Panthers Friday, January 7 and squeezed by them 56-52. The Rapps were downed Tuesday night 71-67 by the Montevideo Maroons who came to call.
At the end of the first quarter the Elks had 19 points to the Panthers 9, but the Rappahannock boys worked up to tie and lead for a short while in the fourth quarter. Rappahannock had trouble on offense, shooting only 43% of its foul shots and missing many close shots under the basket.
