Casey
Dr. John Joseph Casey of Castleton died January 11 near Castleton while out with his dogs. He was born in 1903 in Pennsylvania. His father was a Congressman, the late Honorable J. J. Casey Sr. and his mother the late Sara Lally Casey. He was a retired dentist.
He is survived by his wife the former Fay Brown of Sperryville, now residing in Castleton.
Other survivor.s include two daughters, Mrs. Patricia C. Butler of Wilkes Barre, Pa. and Mrs. Sara C. Bergman of Westland, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Marie LaFrance of Audubon, N.J., Miss Catherine R. Casey and Mrs. Sara Clark, both of Wilkes Barre; three brothers, Edward D. Casey of Glens Falls, N.Y.; Lawrence T. Casey, Garden Grove, Cal. and Robert E. Casey, Kensington, Md.; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wilkes Barre, Pa. with burial in the church cemetery. □
Mary Starks
Mrs. Mary Magdalene Starks, 77, of Woodville died January 11 after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late James Arthur Freeman and Texanna Porter Freeman.
Survivors include her husband, James Albert Starks, of Woodville; four sons, Lawrence Starks of Viewtown, Edward Starks Washington, Va., Frank Starks, Woodville and Jack Freeman of Washington, D. C.; two daughters, Mrs. Annie Belle Timbers of Woodville and Mrs. Edna Leadholt of Brooklyn, N. Y.; 13 grandchildren and
