Spring thoughts
WITH THE WAY the weather’s been the past few days, it’s kind of hard to get exercised about anything. The sun’s shining too warmly, the breezes are wafting too balmily, the clouds drifting too lazily. Who can get all worked up about problems at a time like this?
The answer, of course, is that if you don’4; keep * an eye peeled for problems, they’ll sneak up on you. Take the example of our neighbors over in Loudoun, for example. The Board of Supervisors over there recently scored something of a triumph in behalf of the citizens they represent — a court upheld the Board’s insistence that it should regulate the pace and amount of residential growth, especially since giant housing developments had already placed a severe strain on county schools, utilities, roads, and all other governmental responsibilities.
