Turkey season opens
THE SPRING TURKEY season on bearded turkeys only opens this Saturday, April 22 and runs through May 13. As in past years, hunting may be from one half Jiour before sunrise until 11 a.m. each day.
NcT electronic callers, dogs or organized drives are allowed. These restrictions, plus the 11 a.m. quitting time are for a good purpose, that being to disturb nesting hens as little as possible,
Usually, gobbling and your chances of getting a turkey are over well before 11 a.m. so you should consider getting out of the woods as early as possible.
A big game license is, of course required. The appropriate tab must be attached before removing the turkey from the place of kill, and then it must be timmediately checked at a checking station. 4 Game checking stations are located at Williams Store, Chester Gap; Bradford’s Store, Flint Hill . and Jenkins Garage, Amissville.
