Sperryville Rescue Squad had only pne call this week on April 18. Orie Burke was carried from Gid Brown Hollow to Warren Memorial Hospital.
Various fire companies in Rappahannock have recently received numerous calls which have proved to be false alarms. If these are intended as jokes they do not qualify. Firemen are volunteers who render assistance when needed; who give freely of their time in any emergency. It is no joke to impose on these people and to cause needless operation of emergency vehicles which are supported and operated by contributions of local citizens. Information concerning false alarms would be appreciated by county companies and known offenders would be prosecuted. □
