a score of 59 1/2 to 40 1/2.
Competing girls for Rappahannock were Kaye Bennett, Judi Burke, Lisa Day, (first place in discus and high jump) Maureen Day (high scorer with 16 points) Kathy Dwyer, Sharon Foster, Ella Mae Harper, and Libby Snead.
This was not the full team. For a variety of reasons, ranging from College Board Exams to the cleanup campaign, Katie Pendleton, Debbie Thomas, Judy Alther, Wendy Brown, and Cil Davis did not get to compete.
RAPPAHANNOCK dominated the field events, winning the high jump, shot put, discus and hurdles events.
The Day twins, Lisa and Maureen, accounted for three firsts, and Sharon Foster won the shot put. At the end of the field events, Rappahannock led, 29 1/2 to 15 1/2.
