THE ANNUAL carnival sponsored by Washington Fire Department and Rescue Squad opened Wednesday night and continues through Saturday night. Rides, games, entertainment, fun, prizes and good food are featured each evening and the support of the public is urged for these volunteer organizations.
A parade is scheduled for tonight (Thursday) and begins at 7 p.m. The parade will be able to progress through the town without interference of traffic since the by-pass has been completed.
A coronation ceremony will be held Friday night to name an honorary fire chief for the coming season and on Saturday night the awarding of prizes will climax the event. Grand prize is a 1972 Ford pickup and other prizes include Savings Bonds of $75, $50 and $25.
