spending taxpayers’ money to flood out the Rappahannock River to make a recreational lake 12 miles from the Potomac River.
It appears that some of the “engineers” will go to any means to build their proposed dams. For manv years, General Noce h?R been representing himself at public meetings as though he were speaking for Rappahannock County in favor of the Salem Church Dam as proposed by the Army Engineer Corps. To me, this is a misrepresentation of facts.
Rappahannock County’s Board of Supervisors, on March 6, sent me a letter, with a copy of the same to General Noce, enclosing minutes from their last meeting. These minutes said: “The Salem Church Dam on the Rappahannock River was discussed, and on motion of Betty S. Coates, seconded by H. B. Wood, Jr., and passed. The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors reaffirmed its position of neutrality as to the construction of the Salem Church Dam on the Rappahannock River. The Clerk was instructed to
