W.K. Dennis, Sr.
William McKinley Dennis Sr., 63, of Washington, Va. died Monday, June 12, 1972 at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal, following a lingering illness.
A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late John and Ella Clark Dennis.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Mrs. Phyllis A. Dennis; five sons William McKinley Dennis Jr., Washington, D.C., Sgt. Cleve D. Dennis, U. S. A. F., Hampton; John T., Hubert A. and Ernest M. Dennis, all of Washington, Va.; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Freeman, Wilmington, Del. Mrs. Armentra A. Jackson and Miss Virginia D. Dennis, both of Lanham, Md., Mrs. Barbara L. Shanks of Culpeper, and 16 grandchildren.
Also surviving are six sisters, Mrs. Millie Fletcher, Luray, Mrs. Mary Ellen Pratt, Bailey s Crossroads, Mrs. Lajonna Pope, Bronx, N.Y., Mrs Rachel - Beckwith, Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Jessie Fletcher and Mrs. Gates Payton of Washington, Va.
