FRANCES COTTRELL married W.H. Lyne of Orange, who was extension agent, Agriculture for Botetourt County and they moved to Rappahannock in 1946. Bill succeeded Lewis J. Turner as County Agent here.
The Lynes have two children, Mrs. G.L. Warren (Peachey) of Greensboro, N.C. and David Cottrell Lyne, a student at the University of Virginia.
One of Mrs. Lyne’s favorite stories was about a pupil who had been reading a book about monkeys, and had been doing quite a lot of TV viewing, also. He got his reading and viewing confused at book report time and related this story: *
“The monkey climbed the tree but he had just shampooed his hair and couldn’t do a thing with it until he used his hair spray, then he climbed out on a limb.”
