THE PANTHERS scored a season’s first by winning both the J.V. and Varsity contests Tuesday night against the StrasburgRams.
The J.V. team racked up its first win of the season, stopping Strasburg 3528, after holding them scoreless into the second quarter. They led at one time 12-0. Mike Smoot was the top scorer with 14 and Billy Dawson put in 10, Ernie McDonald 6, Hodge Miller 4, and Milton Fletcher’s one rounded it out.
Although hounded by a full courCjjress, they shot better and rebounded better to keep ahead. Milton Fletcher turned in the defensive performance of the night, leading in rebounds and blocked shots.
