ROY LEWIS Stringfellow of Amissville driving a 63 Buick struck the bridge at Laurel Mills on Route 618 at 1 a.m. December 26. He failed to report the accident and was charged with hit and run later. *
He sustained a lacerated forehead and Edna Burke of Castleton, a passenger in tjphcar, also had contusions of the forehead. Damage to the car was set at $500 and at $100 to the bridge.
December 27 on Route 211 East of Sperryvjlle at 3 a.m. Joseph Abraham Clatterbuck of Sperryville lost control of his 58 Volkswagon, struck the bank and turned over. Damage was set at $300 and he was cited for reckless driving.

Michael Settle of Castleton operating a 72 Ford pickup struck a cow and careened into a utility pole Friday night on Route 729. The crash killed the Angus cow and snapped off the pole, which required the services of the power company before the vehicle could be moved.
