Warm thoughts
IF THE ADVENT OF A new winter season and a new year contained good omens for Rappahannock motorists, it was not such a happy time for those county residents interested in a pastime somewhat less speedy and hazardous. We mean those people who run ski areas, and the people who like to patronize such places.
Up until almost the past few hours, the ski fans have been plagued this year by the same problem that caused them so much trouble last year. Remember last year? Day after day of warm sunshine, with only an occasional rain. But no cold; no snow; no skiing.
Even the non-skiiers among us are beginning to fret. After all, with a really dandy, rip-snorting winter, with plenty of snow or at th e very least plenty of co-operation for the snow machines, that complex sitting up in Harris Hollow could really be a boon to the entire county.
So we all join in the sentiment of the bumper stickers we’ve seen: “Think Snow.” □
