EARLY IN 1956 she applied for reinstatement in the Government. In wartime she had worked for the Chemicals Bureau in the War Production Board as one who allocated the scarce resins used in making Vinylite, Vinyon.Bakelite,s Koroseal, and Saran.

In 1956 she was assigned to the U. S. Army Transportation Corps. As many did, she started work as a Grade 4 clerk-typist and later was promoted to the positions of editorial assistant, writer-editor, and editor.

Her last position was that of a grade 12 senior editor for the U. S. Army Material Command, she received many performance awards during her stay in the Army.
