New treasurer

MRS. FRANCES FOSTER of Washington has been appointed to fill the vacancy which will be left by the resignation of Rappahannock County Treasurer, Robert L. Brown of Woodville. His resignation becomes effective February 28. The - appointment was made by Circuit Court Judge R. V. Snead.

Named to the position of Deputy Treasurer which will result in Mrs. Foster’s promotion to Treasurer will be Mrs. Judy Black Armentrout who wil* make her home near Woodville after living in Culpeper where she was employed with Second National Bank. Mrs. Armentrout was a previous employe in this office a number of years ago.

Mrs. Foster’s appointment is effective from March 1 until the general election in the fall.

The Treasurer’s office will be closed for a week to allow a special audit of the books prior to Mrs. Foster assuming her new position. The office will close from February 26 through March 3. □
