JONES reported that the county’s support of “ban-the-can” legislation — a bill to prohibit beverage sales in throwaway cans and bottles — had been forwarded to the county’s legislative members. (The bill was subsequently lulled in Richmond.)

Jones also reported that the company which stores microfilms of Rappahannock’s records had suffered a water leak in an underground storage area, and that some of the films might have been damaged.
