AND AS SUPERVISOR H. B. Wood Sr. pointed out, who says all of the things wrapped up in the State’s “quality education” package are all that great? Some of them, even a lot of them, may not be applicable to Rappahannock. Why must everybody bow down before some centralized authority which may not understand or even care about our county’s special needs, educational or otherwise? If more Virginia counties start speaking up, then maybe we will see not only more reasonable “formulas” for paying for such vital services as education, but more evidence of common sense in arriving at “standards of quality” as well. □
Basketball finale THE LAST BASKETBALL game of the season to be played on the Rappahannock High School court is scheduled for this Friday, February 9. For this game, parents of the team members and those of the cheerleaders will be offered free ad- mission tickets if they will request them. Becau&e of this, fewer admission tickets will be available for the general public. It is advisable for anyone wishing to attend the game to purchase their tickets early, and avoid being turned away because of a full house. The game is with Stonewall Jackson and first attraction begins at 6:30. Reserved seats are held until 7:30 □
