Pony Club is active

The Rappahannock Hunt Pony Club has been active since its formation several weeks ago. Trips have been made to Culpeper to hear panel discussions by prominent horsemen on buying and feeding horses. Regular Tuesday night meetings of the group are held at 7:30 at the following places: First Tuesday, the Metzinger’s Roundabout Farm, Sperryville; Second Tuesday, The Baumgardner’s Bellevue Farm; third Tuesday, the Snead’s Fairlea Farm and fourth Tuesday, Blue Rock Farm, all three in the Washington vicinity. Friday night the club will travel to Warrenton to see a film of the Equestrian Olympics held recently in Munich. On March 20, Dr. Robert W. Lipscomb, DVM, will be the guest of the club.

Other speakers for goup meetings planned are blacksmiths, breeders, hunt staff, judges, trainers, etc. Club members will receive their first ratings on April 24 when Mrs. Joan Hopewell and Mrs. Judy Gillman will attend the meeting.

Adults are as welcome to the club as are young people and those interested and who wish to get involved or lend support should do so. D
