ATTENTION AUTOMOBILE GRAVEYARDS and JUNKYARDS are prohibited in Rappahannock County unless screened by a masonry wall, a uniformly painted solid board fence, or an evergreen hedge at least six (6) feet or more in height, on any side open to view from a public road or residence. The definition of an AUTOMOBILE GRAVEYARD reads as follows: “Any lot or place which is exposed to the weather upon which more than five (5) motor vehicles of any kind, incapable of being operated, are placed.” The definition of a JUNKYARD reads as follows: “The use of any area of land lying within one hundred (100) feet of a State Highw ay or the use of more than two hundred (200) square feet of land in any location for the storage, keeping, or abandonment of junk including scrap metals or other scrap materials. All persons in violation of this ordinance should contact the Rappahannock Zoning Office immediately. The zoning office is open each Tuesday from 8:30 to 4:30. Tel. 675-3342.
