Smith
A funeral service' was held Tuesday at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel, Culpeper for Mrs. Bertha Jane Smith of Culpeper who died April 7, 1973 at the Manassas Manor nursing facility. Burial was in the Washington Masonic Cemetery, Washington, Va.
Mrs. Smith, 81, was the widow of Frank E. Smith of Front Royal. She had moved to Culpeper about a year ago and resided with her son Benjamin F. Smith and family.
She was the daughter of the late James J. and Jane Burke Jewell of Rappahannock County and was a member of the Washington Baptist Church.
Besides her son in Culpeper she is survived by six other sons, Jackson L. Smith of Riverton, Stuart B. Smith of Hyattsville, Md., Stanley E. Smith, John D. Smith, James E. Smith and Harry E. Smith, all of Front Royal; a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Konttoganes of Alexandria; a sister, Mrs. Mamie Young of Clifton; 21 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
