VFD Banquet
SPERRYVILLE Fire Company and Rescue Squad held a banquet Thursday evening, April 5, at the fire hall with members and invited guests attending. Visitors were welcomed by secretary George Jenkins and Ian Pryde made a short talk. • Visitors included fire and rescue squad person- - nel from Amissville, Flint Hill. Washington, Supervisors J. R. Latham, Mrs. Betty Coates and Herbert Foster and Troopers Buntin and Baines, Mrs. Buntin and Mrs. Baines.
Others were county officials, E. M. Jones, Clerk; Mrs. Frances Foster. Treasurer; Mrs. Virginia Smith, Commissioner of Revenue; Sheriff Jenkins and. Deputy Estes; fire company legal advisor J.W. Fletcher and Judge and Mrs. W. F. Moffett Jr.
Representatives of the Rappahannock Jaycee Chapter,-were present with special recognition given to Mrs. Sally Thornhill and Mitchell Jenkins, both faithful in assisting the company in many ways.
Gordon Thornhill and the Rev. John McKay entertained withVocal selections accompanied by their guitars.
