is customary for the treasury to wind up $200 or $300 off, one way or another, and that it was also the usual custom in such cases for the treasurer to post personal sums to cover the discrepancy, if any.

In this respect, Cox reported, former Treasurer Brown had posted a personal check for $90.03 to cover a “deferred debit.” Now the audit has been tidied up, and the amount can be returned to Brown, Cox recommended. The Supervisors all voted to approve his suggestion.

COX SAID he was happy to report that Rappahannock is “receiving every possible dollar in Revenue Sharing that it is eligible to receive.” Last year, Rappahannock’s share came to $74,000.

He also reported that while operating income has increased three per cent, total income had increased $132,000—“so you’re in pretty good shape.”
