when he moved his residence to Sperryville. Mrs Virginia Miller was named to fill the unexpired term and she is not seeking the office in this election, but is filing as treasurer, the position she held prior to that of mayor. Others who filed their candidacy for council members include two men-Charhe Jenkins and Peter Kramer—along with incumbents Mrs. Edna Wayland, Mrs. Dorothy Hawkins and June Jordan, who is making an initial bid for office. Mrs. Christine Johnston and Mrs. Bertha Armel declined to file council seats which they held. Also rejecting a bid for re-election was Kermit Weakley, one of the few males to serve on the council in years.□
