MRS. DOROTHY DAVIS has filed as a candidate for the office of Mayor of the Town of Washington, Va., subject to the election in May. This is not a new ventrue for • Mrs. Davis, who was the original “Lady Mayor” of the town in the early 1950’s when the women took over the position of mayor and all council seats.
She relinquished the office twice since that time once to finish rearing her family and again a few yijars ago when she decided she had done her duty and had a number of personal projects and other activities in which she was interested and on which she wished to spend more time.
One man Andrew Kozik, has served mayor since the all-woman take-over. He resigned last year
