ROGER BATCHELDER asked the Supervisors to prohibit smoking in the courtroom. Batchelder was especially concerned about smoking at evening meetings. Dick Latham agreed. ‘‘Sometimes it gets pretty hazy,” he said.
The Supervisors decided that there will be no smoking in the courtroom at any time. Batchelder said he’d be glad to provide the “No Smoking” signs.
The Supervisors turned down the request of Mr. Myer from District 10 Mental Health for an additional $2,644. When making out the budget, the Supervisors had appropriated $2,000 for District 10. Their original budget request had been $4,644 and they were seeking the difference.
Potomac Edison Power Company notified the Supervisors that a public hearing on their request for a rate increase will take place later this month. The Supervisors agreed that Rappahannock County is a relatively small user. “I don’t think it would be worth our time and money to get into it,” Pete Luke said.'
