BUT WITHOUT intending to be overly critical of either Mr. McNear or the Fauquier administration he serves, we had a complicated reaction to his rhetorical question of the Rappahannock planning commission. “What,” he asked, “would Fauquier be like if it had not adopted a comprehensive plan and the Supervisors had not been committed to it? Prince William is a fair example of a county that has had neither, and I will let you draw your own conclusions.”
Well, we can draw some conclusions that may be somewhat at odds with what Mr. McNear apparently had in mind.
