A HUNTER en route to the mountains bagged a deer with his auto Friday on Route 211 westofAmissville. Larry Bartell of Falls Church was westbound when a group of several deer crossed the highway. Light damage to the auto, a 1966 Ford, resulted. Trooper J. A. Watson investigated the accident.
Saturday on Route 211, a mile west of Sperryville, a 74 Dodge pickup operated by Janet Richardson of Boston was damaged slightly when she struck a bale of hay in the road. The hay fell from a load being transported by Alvin Atkins of Sperryville on his 74 Chevrolet pickup. He was cited for failing to secure his load, said Trooper Watson.
The following day, November 3, on Route 606, Fodderstack Road, a mile west of Flint Hill, Steve Baily of Washington was involved in a motorcycle wreck. He was travelling west when he struck a rock, lost control of the cycle and turned over.
He suffered a crushed vertebrae and is a patient at Fauquier Hospital. Stephanie Hawkins,, also of Washington, a passenger with Bailey, sustained injuries of her left elbow, and numerous abrasions and contusions, according to Trooper Watson.□
