Generally, as the old saying goes, you’re supposed to save the best for last but in this case such good news deserves top billing. Our R.C.H.S. Cross Country Team has once again earned the title of Skyline District Cross Country champions after taking first place at the district meet which was held this past Saturday at Blue Rock Farm. The scores for our team and their competitors were as follows: Montevideo 60; Central 73; Page 97 and Rappahannock 15 (another perfect score.)
Our runners were Jerry Thomas, who came in first with a time of 13:27; Ronnie Nicholson, second with a time of 13:51; Raymond Groves, third in 14:09.8, Bill Taylor, fourth, timed in at 14:10.2; Donnell Carter, fifth with a time of 14:30; Billy Dawson eighth at 14:44 and Clifton Jenkins, ninth timed at 15:01. The course record is still held by Bill Taylor and his time of 13:01. Congratulations guys, we couldn’t be prouder!
