Robert Racer of Sperryville was struck and killed October 10 while walking along Route 600 near his home. Charged with manslaughter is Lonnie Clatterbuck, also of Sperryville, who was also charged with driving under the influence and two minor offenses.
According to Trooper J. A. Watson, Racer was dead at the scene. He said Racer was walking north when he was struck by the 1967 pickup operated by Clatterbuck. Deputy Bobby Weakley assisted the Trooper.
