L. M. “Buddy” Carter, HI, was appointed principal of the Rappahannock Elementary School by the School Board on Tuesday. Carter is currently assistant principal and will succeed retiring principal Quaintance as of July 1.
Originally from Alleghany County, Carter taught there for six years before coming to Rappahannock in 1972. Carter and his wife Elisabeth live in Ben Venue. Mrs. Carter teaches in the Warren County school system and the oldest of the couple’s two daughters attends third grade at Rappahannock Elementary.
Carter bias a bachelor of science degree in biology from Concord College in West Virginia, and a Masters in Education from the University of Virginia. □
