Norton reported that he’d received no final word from the state on possible budget cuts. He said that finance and appropriations committee recommendations were not final yet and all that he had heard pertained to the possibility of borrowing funds from the State Highway Department and allowing for an extra month of sales tax revenues.

“A Band-aid for the cancer,” remarked Board member Walter Masterson.

Garrison injured

Arthur Garrison of Amissville sustained injuries in a single vehicle crash Saturday morning on Route 645 near Amissville. The 1970 Plymouth he was driving went off the road, down a fence row and struck a tree, according to Deputy Hawkins who assisted Trooper L. L. Lilly.

Garrison sustained a fractured jaw, dislocated teeth and lacerated lip. He was taken to Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton by Amissville Rescue Squad, where he remained until Tuesday. □
