In addition to the timber and hurdle races that are the mainstay of the annual affair, the Rappahannock point-to-point features a pair race for hunters, against the clock. This year’s pair race will add a new challenge trophy, and additional prize categories.
A unique feature of the Rappahannock races — and surefire crowd pleaser—is the traditional hound race. This event brings over 50 fox hounds together in spirited competition to be first across the .finish line. The hounds’ special music, ringing in die wooded hills surrounding the course, helps create a memorable event.
THE Rappahannock Race Committee plans several new features this year for the enjoyment of spectators and participants.
