The February 17 issue of the News discussed the landfill problem.
I respectfully disagree with Mr. Josef Gardner’s characterization of Virginia’s railroads. They are among the most successful in the country and none are in bankruptcy.
Virginia had almost 3900 miles of railroad in 1975 and employed 15,270 people. 1976 figures are about the same. One Virginia
