Off To
Good Start
Girl Scout Brownie Troops No. 955 and No. 929 of Rappahannock County under the leadership of Mrs. Caroline Manwaring, Mrs. Ruth Williams, Mrs. Mary Bain and Mrs. Shirley Fry are off to a good start in 1978, according to the adult leaders.
Paul Poling of Amissville attended the Jan. 11 meeting of the groups and provided helpful instruction on first aid, including taking the pulse and applying bandages. During the Jan. 25 meeting, the troop leaders and girls discussed table setting with demonstrations. At the Feb. 1 meeting, the girls learned the basic food groups and their values, which were applied to a game that was played following the discussion. Afterwards, a “silly salad” consisting of numerous ingredients was created by the girls.
Parents are invited to come by and observe these meetings.
Communion
There will be no 8:00 a.m. Communion service at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington on Sunday, Feb. 12.
