Measured against 8.0 as grade attainment, county eighth graders scored at 6.8 grade level in reading and science, 6.6 in use of sources, 6.7 in social studies, 6.9 in language arts, 7.1 in math and 6.8 in overall studies.
Compared to last year’s test results for the eighth grade class, this year’s scores showed significant improvement in reading, language arts, math and social studies. The most dramatic increase came in math—a jump from the 26th to 41st percentile.
